Disability Resources and Educational Service (DRES) is accepting
applications for an Associate Director, Beckwith Residential Support
Services (BRSS). This position oversees the onsite operations of
Beckwith Residential Support Services and serves as the onsite
supervisor to the BRSS personnel. The position reports to the Director,
Disability Resources and Educational Services. The position will serve
as part of the administrative team that shares in serving as the
administrator on duty along with the BRSS professional staff and
graduate assistants to ensure 24/7 service provision. The Associate
Director must complete the BRSS PA Training, which will equip individual
to support the PA staff and serve as back up support to PA staff, along
with other BRSS administration.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the BRSS. Will
involve the BRSS administrative staff as needed to carry out specific
responsibilities.
Assumes direct supervisory responsibilities for BRSS administrative
staff and conducts annual review of the BRSS administrative staff.
Serves as professional staff on-call outside of business hours during
overnight and weekends. This is a rotating responsibility shared among
the BRSS administrative team and is a requirement for the position.
Communicates regularly with McKinley Health Services, the Counseling
Center, Dean of Students, University Housing, and other University units
as to the needs of BRSS residents, and how they might be best supported.
Responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and
refinement of the program\'s strategic goals.
Advises and implements BRSS marketing and resident recruitment plan, in
partnership with University Housing, designed to enhance awareness of
BRSS programs and services locally, regionally, and nationally to
disabled prospective students and their families, vocational
rehabilitation professionals, transition counselors, and other critical
stakeholders.
Responsible for the ongoing refinement of internal service policies,
procedures, and practices.
Supports BRSS personnel in the determination of resident health and
safety needs.
Assists in and/or performs significant daily duties of the
administrative staff, when necessary; BRSS administrative team functions
as a team with crossover to support one another as needed.
Participates in the development and implementation of disability
education training on the Illinois campus. Assists in maintaining
content on the BRSS website and social media pages. Will serve as the
BRSS contact for the DRES staff lead website designer.
Works collaboratively with the Director, DRES to develop and update a
research plan and assume primary responsibility in implementing the plan
within DRES to include AHS and other related academic Colleges/program
colleagues. Serves as BRSS liaison to other campus departments/units as
needed. Oversees the development and enforcement of \"Letter of
Expectation\" for residents in violation of BRSS community regulations
and procedures. Other duties as assigned and appropriate.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor\'s degree in higher education administration,
rehabilitation counseling, special education, occupational therapy,
social work, or closely related field.
A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training, and/or work
experience developing and/or maintaining collaborative relationships.
(Note: A Master\'s degree in an area consistent with the duties of the
position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
Demonstrated experience delivering a high level of interactive service.
Preferred: Master\'s degree in higher education administration,
rehabilitation counseling, special education, occupational therapy,
social work, or closely related field.
Prior supervision experience.
3 years\' experience working in post-secondary disability resources.
Experience determining accommodations for students with visual
disabilities, as well as across disability areas.
Residential programming experience at the post-secondary level.
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of ADAAA/504 post-secondary
academic accommodations to disabled students.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to be a productive team player, prioritize effectively, and
proactively solve problems.
Ability to work well under pressure, able to handle multiple projects
simultaneously with accuracy.
