The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for
open-rank full-time faculty positions. Qualified candidates will be
considered at all levels and in all areas of electrical and computer
engineering, broadly defined, including the areas of Semiconductor
Devices, RF/Microwave Technology, Electromagnetics and Sensing Systems,
Power and Energy Systems, Quantum Information Science, Bioinformatics
and Bioimaging, Integrated Circuits and Systems, AI and Autonomous
Systems, Robotics, Signal Processing and Data Science, Control,
Optimization, and Decision Science, Embedded Computing Systems and the
Internet of Things, Data-Centric Computer Systems and Storage, Networked
and Distributed Computing Systems, and Reliable and Secure Computing
Systems. Applications are also encouraged from candidates whose degrees
and research programs are in cross-cutting interdisciplinary areas of
electrical and computer engineering.

Applicants for all positions must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent
degree, excellent academic credentials, and an outstanding ability to
teach effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Successful candidates will be expected to initiate and carry out
independent research and perform academic duties associated with our
B.S., M.Eng., M.S., and Ph.D. programs.

The department has one of the world\'s top programs, serving about 3,000

department carry out research in a broad spectrum of areas. They are
supported by world-class interdisciplinary research facilities,
including the Coordinated Science Laboratory, the Nick Holonyak Jr.
Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory, the Frederick Seitz Materials
Research Laboratory, the Illinois Applied Research Institute, the
Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology and the Carl R.
Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, as well as several industrial
centers and programs that foster international collaborations. ECE also
supports and encourages faculty involvement with the nation\'s first
engineering-based Carle Illinois College of Medicine, which has opened
on campus to facilitate the transition from engineering breakthroughs
into translational medical practices.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The
typical salary range is as follows: \$120,000 to \$145,000 at the
Assistant Professor level, \$135,000 to \$155,000 at the Associate
Professor level, and \$156,000 to \$250,000 at the Full Professor level,
for a 9-month service basis. The preferred starting date is August 16,
2025, and is negotiable.
