Health and Kinesiology
Job Summary**
The Department of Health and Kinesiology, located in the College of
Applied Health Sciences, seeks to hire one outstanding faculty member in
the area of Health Administration. The position is a nine-month, tenure
track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates must
have a PhD in Health Administration, Health Management, or a related
area.
Successful candidates should have (or demonstrate potential to have) a
history of leading independent research related to the management of
healthcare organizations and health service delivery in the U.S.
Ideally, the candidate has prior experience guiding research groups of
investigators of varying levels and contributing successfully to
interdisciplinary collaborations including those with healthcare
organizations and clinicians. The candidate should also have the ability
to mentor students and energetically teach key topics under the MHA
rubric that prepare students to assume administrative roles across a
variety of healthcare organizations. Additionally, we seek individuals
who will bring new and creative ideas to our team of instructors and
professors.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in Health
Administration, Health Management, or a related area. Candidates must
also demonstrate a record of academic scholarship that meets the
qualifications for the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of
Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Ideally, candidates would demonstrate a focused line of research in one
or more of the following areas: leadership, management, organizational
development, health system performance, healthcare operations, and/or
organizational behavior.
Preference will be given to individuals who demonstrate excellence in
embracing diverse individual identities, fostering a culture of
inclusion, and promoting equity in curricula, teaching, standards,
behaviors, policies and practices. The committee strongly encourages

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full time Academic position, appointed on a 9-month
basis, paid over 12 months. The salary range for this position is
\$80,000 to \$90,000. Salary is commensurate with experience.
