Price Electric is seeking an exceptional Senior Electrical Project Manager who has successfully planned, managed, and oversaw large electrical construction projects with distinguished partners and global customers. As a nationally ranked Top Electrical Contractor by Associated Builders and Contractors, Price Electric performs design build and various projects through its branches, and this position will focus primarily on mission critical projects in Eastern Iowa.
The Senior Project Manager will drive project execution through quality and safety management; proactive resource plans and schedules; operations and process accountability; effective change management; construction management system utilization; project financial management; and high levels of engagement with project team and partners.
With support from a Project Manager Assistant, the Senior Project Manager will follow established project delivery and contract/project administration processes and communications; proactively plan, schedule, monitor and adjust resources and priorities to meet expectations; lead, manage, and hold field leaders accountable to high safety and performance standards; strengthen customer relations by being a trusted, communicative solution provider; identify and mitigate project risks and challenges; and perform within budget while meeting customer specifications and company objectives.
To achieve key result areas, primary responsibilities of the position include:
Reviewing assigned project's contractual requirements, specifications, and scope
Determining and maintaining the overall project schedule with established milestones and critical paths
Conducting short interval planning weekly including complete work breakdowns with actual to planned productivity monitoring
Communicating with preconstruction, warehouse, job site supervision, and project management teams to coordinate schedules and resources and keep them well informed
Attending meetings and visiting job sites to interact with foremen, crew, general contractors, and customers to stay on top of changes and ensure expected job performance and progress occurs
Ensuring every project has complete safety and quality inspections, observations, and plans for success on all task level items
Leading and managing field crews and promoting merit shop philosophy and continuous learning and development, including providing objective feedback and assessing foremen conduct and job performance
Coordinating and managing external resources including vendor selection and subcontractors
Monitoring actual project performance to plan closely, actively coordinating adjustments to achieve expected results, and participating in financial forecasting
Maintaining good working relationships with customers and contractors by understanding their expectations, proactively addressing potential issues, resolving issues satisfactorily, and communicating successes
Ensuring timely completion of project documents and necessary inspections, approvals, and certifications by appropriate agencies as well as accuracy and delivery of Payapps/billings to appropriate parties with customer follow up as needed
Coordinating close out, analyzing project performance, gathering feedback, and developing and implementing changes for continued improvement
Utilizing construction management, scheduling, MS Office, and virtual meeting software effectively
Position Requirements:
Possess seven years of electrical project management experience in commercial and industrial construction or equivalent combination of a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering and four years of project management experience
Proven track record in achieving safety, production, quality, budget, scope, and schedule expectations on large electrical projects
Ability to lead, manage and mentor project teams
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, listening, information probing, collaborating, and negotiating skills
Ability to read, understand and utilize plans and specifications for projects, financials, cost data, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with project stakeholders
Proficient mathematical ability to perform various calculations
Analytical decision making and problem solving
Resourcefulness, time management and follow through skills necessary to meet commitments
Demonstrated strong independent judgment and business insight to balance company and customers' interests
Possess a valid driver's license and acceptable insurability for regular business travel
Mission critical project management experience is preferred
CPMP certification is preferred
