School/College/Division Description
UWM neuroscience faculty are engaged in research on several important questions. This work is funded by research grants from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation as well as several private foundations and the private sector. Multiple approaches and levels of analysis are represented by the various laboratories including behavioral, cellular, cognitive, molecular, and systems neuroscience. Specific areas of interest include molecular signaling and neural development, hormonal control of behavior and reproduction, and the neurobiology of memory and cognition in humans and laboratory animals. Specific research interests are listed on the individual faculty pages listed on the People page.
Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant III in the Department of Psychology will will work closely with the Directors of the Neuroscience B.S. Program, the Head of the Neuroscience Area in Psychology and faculty in the Neuroscience Graduate Program to manage the day-to-day operations of the Neuroscience B.S. program and department's Neuroscience graduate program and laboratory operations. Collaborating closely with program directors, faculty, and laboratory staff, the specialist will manage program administration, coordinate events, facilitate recruitment, and maintain essential materials and equipment. Key responsibilities include organizing major events, advising students, supporting faculty with grant applications, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the Neuroscience programs through dedicated administrative and operational support.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Proficient in the use of computers, including programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
Aptitude for learning to use proprietary UWM software applications
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Experience with UWM software applications (e.g., ROAR , WISER , Concur, CLSS )
Experience with recruiting, travel arrangements, ordering
Experience with social media and Web Development
Target Salary Range $22.00-$28.00
