We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer (EE) to join our Electrical Technologies team located in Rancho Bernardo. We are looking for someone with drive, talent, and interest in electrical circuit design who also thrives in a fast-paced, Research and Development (R&D) environment. The successful candidate will report to an EE Design Team Manager and, alongside high-caliber staff, will be engaged in the engineering support and new development of GA-EMS technologies and products, including High Energy Laser (HEL) Systems, specialized power conditioning systems, advanced electro-optic sensors, space-based optical communication systems, cutting-edge technology ventures into "NewSpace," and a variety of other technologies in the expanding product portfolio of GA-EMS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with GA-EMS Electrical Engineering staff in the concept development and proto@type design, integration, and test of embedded systems, electronics, and microcontroller firmware.
Demonstrate interest and capability in the improvement of legacy systems and development of new systems.
Support electrical engineering solutions for project needs, perform electrical engineering analyses for systems and circuits, document findings, communicate results, and make technical presentations to project staff.
Contribute to electrical engineering efforts as directed by project leaders.
Apply basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems under general supervision and with on-going review.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is required.
Desirable Experience: Electrical engineering, circuit design and motor control
Desired Skills (ranked high to low): Simulink, Experience with printed circuit board design software, SPICE circuit simulation tools, and embedded programming.
Demonstrates the ability to follow and apply basic engineering knowledge, adapt standard techniques, and utilize the required diagnostics, tools, and equipment.
Must be able to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
Must possess good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills to enable an effective interface with other professionals, produce appropriate documentation, and present results to a limited internal audience.
Must be able to work both independently and on a team.
Must be able to work extended hours as required.
