A mid-sized engineering consulting firm specializing in the development of energy-efficient and green building designs, seeks a full-time Accounting Assistant.

Responsibilities:

Prepares and send invoices to clients and reviews with Project Managers;
Reconciles clients payments to maintain accurate Receivables balance and aging;
Sends weekly reports to Project Managers indicating status of receivables under their management;
Communicates with clients to enquire about status of receivables, once overdue and work with Project Managers and Clients to resolve;
Coordinates with Finance Director to assist in other finance/accounting tasks as required.

The successful candidate must be able to:

Develop a thorough understanding of project teams, their organization and individual roles for each assignment and support those relationships to achieve project goals.

Skills/requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other bachelor’s degree with focus in finance.
1-3 years of relevant experience in an office environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
Detailed oriented.
Ability to learn quickly.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.

The firm offers an excellent overall compensation package including 3 weeks’ vacation and 6 sick days per annum, 401K, and profit share as well as life insurance and health, dental and vision plans. Salary will be commensurate with experience ($45K to $52K).
