Job Description
One of Insight Globals EPC partners is looking for an experienced Electrical Designer to join their team in Houston, TX. This is a secondment assignment based in Houston. Daily, this person will be responsible for overseeing all electrical design for their projects. They will also be traveling 75% of the time, visiting their clients plants. When traveling, they will be doing project work. The plants are recycled glass processing plants. They make glass dust that goes into fiber. The plants are run-down, older facilities, and they will be monitoring and doing the electrical design work for many maintenance projects.
Responsibilities:
As-Built One-Line Diagrams: Create and update as-built one-line diagrams.
Project Evaluation: Assess electrical projects and review drawings provided by third-party vendors.
Field Construction Oversight: Lead field construction for small-cap electrical projects, including obsolescence, new equipment installations, and upgrades to problematic existing electrical equipment (e.g., conveyor belts).

Skills and Requirements
15-20 years of experience as an Electrical Designer/Project Manager
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D
Understanding of electrical equipment details
Project Management experience
Self-motivated; needs minimal direction
Industry experience: Secondment at a plant, material handling facility, or oil & gas null
