Job Summary
Perform duties under general supervision that involve receiving, checking, inspecting, recording, storing and issuing new, returned and reclaimed stores material, supplies and equipment, issue, track, inspect and perform minor repairs on tools as assigned.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Receive, check, inspect for breakage and apparent defects; identify, count, weigh, sort, store and issue new, returned and reclaimed stores material, tools, supplies and equipment from all sources in accordance with specified procedures and complete related papers; make recommendations and suggestions for improvement.
Inspect tools for proper operation; make minor repairs to return to proper operating condition.
If non-repairable, remove tool from service and prepare necessary documents to secure a replacement.
Operate the Materials Management System (MMS) computer terminal and other office machines such as adding machines and calculators.
Operate material handling equipment such as overhead crane, lift trucks, automotive and other stores equipment as assigned. Cut off metal stock such as bars, tubes, rods and other metals in stock for issue.
Perform physical inventories of material and supplies, capitalized spare parts, tools and exempt material as assigned.
Load, unload, pack, unpack, stock, move, count, weigh, sort and arrange equipment, tools and supplies in bins, shelves and storage areas.
Prepare stores documents as required with accurate and appropriate data.
Drive company vehicles and pick-up and deliver freight, express, parcel post, supplies, material and equipment from and to manufacturers, dealers, agencies and other company locations.
Maintain equipment, tools and work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Perform all duties in accordance with company's safety rules, operating regulations and practices and report unsafe conditions and practices.
Train for and carry out assignments in firefighting, first aid, and other emergency response programs as required. Report irregularities and abnormal conditions to the appropriate supervision.
Instruct and direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
Assist in the training of other employees as required. Assist employees as required. Assist in performing necessary stores quality control functions as required. Perform similar or less skilled work.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENS:
Education: High school diploma
Must be able to pass an examination, if required, and in addition: Must have a minimum of eighteen months or 3,120 hours of experience as a Stores Attendant-Jr or equivalent.
Through a combination of education and/or experience, must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above, and also have the physical capabilities to perform the required work.
Must have mechanical aptitude.
Ability to write legibly and record accurately.
Must understand and perform basic math functions.
Must possess the appropriate State driver's license.
Successful completion of the Support and Administrative (SASS) selection tests are required for this position.

Requirements Other:
Will be required to work overtime as assigned
Will be required to be available for call out for plant support as assigned
Will be required to complete random Federal drug screening as required for Power Plant employees

Compensation Range:
$32.85-35.56 USD
The Physical Demand Level for this job is: H - Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
