As a Staff Electrical Systems Integration Engineer, Lighting, you will lead the electrical system design, integration and development of all lighting systems across the vehicle platform. You will lead the end-to-end integration of these systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product design, vehicle behavior definition, proto@type bring-up, and debugging. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and performance of these systems, from concept through production. Your work will encompass a wide range of activities, from supplier interaction and design optimization to hardware/software integration and issue resolution
What you'll do...
Lead component hardware specification development for lighting control units and related components, collaborating with device owners and supply chain to source components
Drive electrical architectural direction and decision-making for lighting subsystems, performing trade studies to optimize for cost and performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and maintain robust lighting subsystem boundary and block diagrams
Lead network interface development for networked components, collaborating with software and systems team to deliver network artifacts
Define, develop, and integrate lighting features and functions, decomposing user stories and functional safety goals into system requirements
Develop and mature exterior and interior lighting functional specifications, ensuring alignment with overall vehicle homologation and regulatory requirements.
Own and approve Device Transmittals for lighting components, ensuring logical schematics and hardware interfaces are designed to meet all component requirements
Lead and manage integration of initial proto@type systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of proto@type bucks, labcars, and vehicles
You'll have...
B.S in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
10+ years of experience working on complex electrical systems or electronics designs
Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts
Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains
Highly skilled in low voltage systems development, electric vehicle system architecture, functional safety, and component level integration planning
Experience with requirements capture in requirements management software platforms (JAMA, etc.)
Experience with creating and modifying network interface description files
Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
Even better, you may have...
Master's Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, etc.)
Experience with designing and integrating automotive lighting systems from concept through production launch
Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded software
