Commercial HVAC Controls Technician
Job Summary:
The Controls Technician performs service and maintenance on HVAC controls systems in commercial buildings. This is done by a hands-on approach for service, point to point checkout, programming, and startup of control systems for HVAC equipment in commercial settings.

Responsibilities:
Performs preventative maintenance on BAS/HVAC controls systems.
Run service calls and provide technical support to customers with controls systems.
Troubleshoot, repair, and update HVAC systems and associated controls.
Calibrates systems using multi-meters, network terminals and/or a laptop.
Performs point to point check out on HVAC equipment.
Performs integration with multiple controls manufacturers.
Performs on site programming for controls systems.
Work with clients to explain and rectify problems and to update equipment.
Read, update, and interpret plans, blueprints, and other documentation.
Completes necessary paperwork with company issued laptop.
Provides controls-related technical support for HVAC/R service technicians.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience installing or servicing commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS) or with Direct Digital Controls.
3+ years of experience programming and commissioning BAS systems.
Experience working with one or more of the following controls platforms: Trane, Tridium, Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, Rover and Honeywell BAS components and integration.
Tridium AX/N4, Distech and Siemens Certifications are a plus.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
Ability to use testing and metering devices.
Must know the fundamentals of A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
Must possess a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
