SUMMARY
Lead technical training activities and programs for Transmission
Operations. Design,
develop, implement, and maintain diverse training programs including
classroom and
requested field training. Work with Transmission Operations managers to
bring
consistencies to the departments training programs and objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
Training
Develop, facilitate, and execute transmission technical training.
Create and implement formal hands-on training programs with curriculums,
lesson
plans, and assessments.
Administer and maintain Sunflower Transmission Operations apprenticeship
programs,
DOT program, Crane Certification, Switchman\'s Training, welding
training, substation
equipment training, and all other general and annual training
requirements.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to conduct hands-on
transmission
technical training for new employees and existing Transmission
Operations employees.
Ensure learning solutions align with organizational goals and
priorities.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with management,
outside
professionals, technical, skilled, safety and support staff, as a
facilitator, resource, and
coordinator to meet the training goals and requirements for Transmission
Operations.
Source training material from internal SMEs and/or contract with
external vendors to
offer effective Transmission Operations technical training content.
Provide accountability and consistency by following the Training and
Talent
Development department guidelines to ensure best practices, principles,
and
techniques are followed.
Identify training gaps in Transmission Operations by coordinating and
leading
assessments that are department and position specific. Track and
prioritize training
needs.
Work in tandem with SMEs to plan, develop, and deliver content that
aligns with team
and organizational objectives.

Serve as an active participant on Sunflowers Training Committee.
Collaborate with the Transmission Operations teams to ensure training
and
development budgetary requirements are identified and allocated to
support team
growth and operational efficiency.
Compliance and Recordkeeping
Oversee the maintenance of training records for Transmission Operations
training
activities. Maintain training qualification and competency records,
monitor training
progress, and communicate results and progress to management.
Collaborate with the Safety department to maintain compliance with
safety regulations.
Coaching and Leadership
Provide leadership and coaching to indirect reports regarding job
performance. Ensure
indirect reports receive training and support to meet or improve their
technical job
performance. Inform Transmission Operations management of technical work
requirements, business conditions, company policies, and other factors
that impact their
technical work performance and environment.
Safety
