Electrical H/W Engineer - Computing and Interface Products Sterling Heights, MI Contract Position Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance. Responsibilities: Design, develop, debug, and test ruggedized electrical circuit boards and assemblies for processing and interface products. Support projects from concept through production, including electrical design, component selection, prototyping, and qualification testing. Conduct system architecture analysis, perform trade studies, and participate in engineering reviews. Review and develop hardware/software requirements and test plans. Perform schematic development, PCB layout support, and circuit simulation. Coordinate engineering design fixes and maintain documentation on hardware/software revisions and debug statuses. Contribute to interdisciplinary team efforts and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electrical hardware design and testing Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) Technical Skills & Experience: Digital and analog circuit design, including power and thermal analysis Schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation tools Experience with microprocessor-based designs (Intel, AMD, ARM) and single board form factors (VPX, VME, COM Express) Familiarity with embedded microcontrollers and programming (C, C++, Visual Studio) Industry-standard interfaces: PCIe, DDRx, USB, SATA, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, CAN, RS422/485 Graphics and video interfaces: HDMI, DisplayPort, HD-SDI, RS-170, LVDS FPGA design and simulation using Xilinx toolsets EMI/EMC and signal integrity design principles Understanding of military standards: MIL-1275, MIL-461, MIL-464, MIL-STD-810 Familiarity with Six Sigma tools, including DFMEA and reliability analysis Preferred: Prior experience working on ground combat vehicles Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed Your Recruiter Still have questions?
