Note: Work hours for this position will be from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. May need to work occasional shifts outside of the regular shift to meet the needs of the department. Description of Job
This full time position works in the Facilities Department at Community College of Aurora. Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Maintain safe and efficient electrical systems at college campuses by inspecting, repairing, and replacing components as needed. Perform rewiring, install outlets, switches, lighting, and add circuits. Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment and lighting to ensure optimal functionality across buildings and grounds.
Perform preventative maintenance on building facilities Responsibilities include minor repairs and upkeep of walls, doors, and windows as needed. Tasks may involve light carpentry, drywall patching, painting, and the installation of wall-mounted fixtures. Ensure facilities remain in good condition by addressing maintenance needs promptly and assisting with general building upkeep.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal space comfort through effective HVAC and Building Automation System (BAS) management. Monitor, adjust, and calibrate climate control systems to maintain consistent temperature, humidity, and air quality. Identify and resolve issues affecting occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and system performance while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Orders and picks up parts and materials, for campus maintenance team utilizing college vehicles and college issued PCard. Ensures purchases are made according to state fiscal rules and college guidelines. Maintain records and logs of purchases according to state fiscal rules and college guidelines.
Assist other crafts and staff as needed by helping with snow removal, setups, for events, provide assistance when required, completing additional tasks as assigned by supervisor. This position like others in the physical plant, requires the individual to do work in areas other than that of the specific trade, therefore, requires a good general knowledge of building maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
Two (2) years of relevant experience in electrical trades. Do not use "SEE RESUME" statements on application; your application must be completed in detail and clearly document your relevant work experience. (Part time experience will be pro-rated).
OR
Education and Experience:
Successful completion of a formalized electrician apprenticeship program or higher level course work from an accredited, non-correspondence, vocational or trades school appropriate to the work assignment may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application in order to be considered. Please redact age-related information on your transcript.
Conditions of Employment: Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado driver's license to independently drive company vehicles and equipment around the campus, pick up parts, etc. Must submit to and successfully complete a pre-employment background check to include a motor vehicle report (MVR) as a condition of hire. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from consideration for this position. Appeal Rights:
