OVERVIEW:
The Service Electrician assists in the development of the service department through excellent customer service through accomplishing all client needs relating to performing electrical duties.
Compensation Range for this Position: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Specific Responsibilities

Follow guidelines in Employee Information Manual
Represent Encore Electric, Inc. to the client by a clean and neat appearance on the job including all Encore branded items
Treat client with highest degree of respect and works to develop a partnership environment
Investigate and solve problems to determine the most efficient way to install changes to existing service
Perform electrical work alone or with others making individual judgment calls in the field prior to contacting service supervisors
Determine client needs and most effective way to meet them
Estimate the general amount of time and material to complete service tasks
Must communicate with Service Supervisor on a frequent basis regarding scheduling and work progress
Obtain and order your own commodity material and some non-commodity material
Work well around building owners and tenants to perform job representing Encore in a professional manner
Determine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and meet NEC and NFPA 70E standards as well as any other requirements as per the Authority Having Jurisdiction while meeting budgetary guidelines
Communicate with vendors, service supervisors and other contractors to assure jobs are completed within scope and budget
Contact clients to confirm appointments set by service supervisor
Follow up with Service Supervisor to obtain job numbers
Must make every effort to meet budget
Understand the scope of work quoted by obtaining information on the estimate from the service supervisor
Notify Service Supervisor if changes to scope are being requested or required
Must be flexible with hours, shifts and geographic locations with reasonable notice
On-call two weeks every three months, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week
Work is performed throughout the State and could possibly be throughout the Western United States
Responsible for making sure the company vehicle is properly cleaned and maintained
Maintain proper general stock
Responsible for continuing their education within the electrical field and in their career path
Maintain clean, proper tools and inventory ensuring equipment is in good working order
Other duties as may be assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
Electrical drawings and coordination of drawings
The National Electric Code and the use of NFPA-70 E
When to contact service supervisor and when to decide on your own
Wiring systems and how to perform all phases of project installation
Basic electrical troubleshooting
Materials
The relationship between wholesale, distribution, and retail to determine the best relationship to save the company and client money
Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and components involved in entire basic electrical systems ? Parts available and appropriate use
Commercial electrical construction
Tools, tool uses, and repair techniques
Safety requirements and specialized training and certification
Major and minor electrical materials and their uses
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A functional physical is required to be completed and passed before work can be performed in all field positions. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time. These requirements include:
Driving
Sitting
Climbing
Lifting, floor to chest (up to 50lbs)
Lifting, floor to waist (up to 50lbs)
Lifting, waist to overhead (up to 30lbs each arm)
Carrying (up to 50lbs)
Standing
Stooping
Vision acuity (near, far and without color deficiencies)

Kneeling
Trimming (final installation of electrical devices)
Pushing (up to 100lbs) ? Pulling (up to 100lbs)
REQUIREMENTS:
A Utah Journeyman License is required (may also require additional State JW licenses). Requires at least one year of electrical foreman experience which can be substituted demonstrated experience in making decisions regarding layout and planning.
