Position Overview
The Sr. R&D Electrical Engineering Technician will contribute to the design and development of innovative electronic products to treat peripheral and heart valve diseases and will participate in multiple cross-functional development teams that manage projects from concept through commercialization. The Sr. R&D Electrical Engineering Technician will perform and support a variety of development and engineering activities with primary focus on electronic circuit prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting, as well as building and maintaining lab tools and equipment.
Essential Job Functions
Assist engineers in the development of their design concepts.
Build, test, and evaluate proto@type circuitry.
Construct and quality test and measurement fixtures.
Create and maintain project documentation.
Repair and maintain electronic systems as needed.
Assist engineers with component qualification efforts.
Assist in creation of manufacturing documentation.
Perform verification and validation testing of hardware and software designs.
Maintain the R&D electrical engineering laboratory to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
Order and maintain electrical engineering tools and test equipment.
Other duties as needed.
Requirements
5+ years of relevant experience as a technician doing work on electrical or electronic systems
Associate degree in Engineering Technology with Certified Engineering Technician (CET) accreditation preferred.
Knowledge and experience using electrical engineering tools including power supplies, oscilloscopes, and digital multi-meters (DMM's), etc.
Experience in the assembly of printed circuit boards using standard lab soldering tools and equipment.
Experience in the construction of electronic equipment consisting of printed circuit boards, connectors, and wiring assembled within an enclosure.
Experience in understanding electronic schematics and PCB layouts.
Hands-On experience troubleshooting circuit boards to component level.
Ability to communicate effectively with all cross-functional team members.
Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and laboratory practices.
Good organizational skills.
Experience with MS Office.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Experience using schematic capture and PCB layout tools is plus.
Experience with SolidWorks or other mechanical design tools is a plus.
Experience with product safety compliance testing is a plus.
Employees may be required to lift objects up to 25lbs.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
