Overview
Are you passionate about working with community partners, and being a
part of Vermont\'s effort in addressing the opioid crisis? The Public
Health Specialist: Overdose Prevention First Responder Coordinator is a
position in the Division of Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Injury
Prevention. Position is responsible for the oversight, implementation,
administration, coordination, and quality control of the Vermont First
Responders Emergency Opioid Response Program.
The Vermont Emergency Opioid Response program is working to enhance the
vital work of First Responders and communities\' ability to safely
provide emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdoses as
well as increase the rate of referrals to treatment and recovery in
Vermont rural communities with low access to naloxone and high burden of
opioid injury and deaths. This coordinator will be responsible for
planning assessment, coordinating plan activities and implementation,
monitoring and evaluation, technical assistance and education and
quality assurance for the program. This position is a great opportunity

overdose prevention.
Environmental Factors
Duties are performed in both a standard office and field settings.
Private means of transportation must be available for required travel.
Stress may be anticipated in dealing with emotional situations involving
application of programs, especially in dealing with families and in the
allocation of program resources.
