Job Description
Responsibilities include developing construction drawings, specifications, bills of material, and power system studies. This role demands expertise in grounding, surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, panelboards, low/medium voltage switchgear, unit substations, PV solar, BESS, wind collection systems, DER, and microgrids.
Candidates must be well-versed in NESC, NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards, with strong knowledge of power system modeling using tools like ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower. Key attributes include leadership, mentoring, multitasking, and excellent communication skills. The role involves managing schedules, budgets, and quality, providing QA/QC across deliverables, and supporting proposals and resource planning.
This position requires collaboration with internal/external clients and occasional travel to vendor and client sites.
Design Solar Farm Layouts: Develop efficient and optimized layouts for solar panels, taking into account terrain, sunlight exposure, shading, and environmental factors.
Optimize System Configuration: Analyze and improve the arrangement of solar panels, inverters, and collection systems to maximize energy efficiency and reduce costs.
Select and Design Inverters: Specify, design, and integrate inverters to convert DC power from solar panels into AC power for grid compatibility.
Develop Power Collection Systems: Design wiring, junction boxes, and other collection system components to transmit electricity from solar panels to substations while minimizing energy losses.

Skills and Requirements
BS, Electrical, Civil, or Engineering Technology
2-12+ years of engineering experience specific to PV (Photovoltaic) solar, BESS collection systems, wind collection systems, distributed energy resources (DER), and/or microgrids
Strong design in the optimization of renewable energy resources
Capable of performing all electrical engineering tasks associated with the project including proposals, design, engineering calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, and construction support PE or EIT
Experience working for a consulting firm null
