Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in Analog/Mixed Signal Circuit Design to join our Avionics Design Group (ADG). In this role, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of design, test, and systems engineers to support the development of avionics for launch vehicles and their associated automated test equipment.
Responsibilities
Support the design, development, and testing of avionics for launch vehicles and the associated automated test equipment.
Model, simulate, and evaluate circuits, and document analyses in support of design.
Generate design documents, specifications, user manuals, and test procedures for avionics.
Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate issues to support development and full-scale production.
Communicate project status to the program and stakeholders.
Collaborate with other designers and systems engineers to perform system architecture characterization studies on various system components.
Design, develop, and implement testing methods and procedures for individual pieces of equipment.
Compile data and help define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing techniques.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 7 years of circuit design experience, or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of circuit design experience.
Experience with schematic capture, PWB layout software, and DFM tools.
Circuit modeling and simulation experience, such as Spice/PSpice.
Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.
Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: MATLAB, Python, C, or C++.
Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to use basic manual tools.
Ability to write design documents, such as component specifications and test procedures.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
ITAR compliance.
Experience with Cadence Capture CIS, Allegro, CAM350, and Altium.
Experience with motor control circuit design.
Work Environment
This position will serve on-site at Launch and Missile Defense Systems in Chandler, AZ. You will work in a fast-paced team environment alongside other design, test, and systems engineers. The role requires hands-on work with standard test equipment and the ability to adapt to changes in testing methodology, equipment, and procedures.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $80.00/hr.
