A temporary position is 67 days or less or 100 days for a student. A casual position is 14 hours or less a week. NCROC is committed to discovering and sharing knowledge that enhances the quality of life for residents of Minnesota. The distinctive soil, climate, and socio-economic conditions of north central Minnesota create unique opportunities for researchers to conduct impactful studies and lead outreach programs aimed at fostering sustainable economic systems in the region. This position may allow for engagement across various program areas within the center, and training on specific machinery may also be provided. Possible areas of responsibilities: 1. Measure and record plant growth. 2. Assist researchers with collecting plant, soil, and water samples. 3. General field work and plot maintenance, evaluation of plots, plot layout, planting, and fruit harvests. 4. Tabulating data and sample preparation for lab analysis 5. Lawn mowing, landscaping, trimming, pruning. 6. Building improvements (painting), light maintenance, and janitorial duties. 7. Assisting with outreach events Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. 16 years and older 2. A valid driver's license 3. Have the ability to work outdoors in a natural environment Desired Qualifications: 1. Experience gathering and preparing soil, manure, forage, plant and grains samples for analysis 2. Appreciation for research activities and patience to work in research settings 3. Ability to work in teams and work collaboratively 4.Reliable, hard-working, and a positive attitude Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $15.25 - $18.00/Hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
