Electrical Engineer I
Location: Greenwood Village, CO-Hybrid Work Schedule

CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions
engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical
utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our
sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power
system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative,
government, industrial, and commercial customers.
CLPE Electrical Engineers work on design, development, and maintenance of
electrical distribution and substation systems. You'll be involved
throughout the life cycle of a project from conception to completion. You'll
learn to develop project concepts, and participate on project design,
procurement support, construction support, commissioning, and extended
operations and maintenance support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in designing sub-transmission systems, substations, switching
stations, and commercial/industrial power distribution systems.
Develop concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis,
and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for
substations and distribution systems.
Assist Lead Engineers with major capital upgrade projects: site visits,
engineering calculations, drawings, drafting, field inspections,
technical report writing, etc.
Perform site surveys for new utility service requests, develop concept
design alternatives and present the alternatives to CLPE management and the
customer.
Create, update, and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical
distribution systems
Analyze electrical fault events, power quality issues, system loading
scenarios and assist with implementing corrective actions.
Schedule and attend field walk-downs with our Customers to better understand
and determine project requirements.
Create system model for large-scale power system and perform various power
system analysis/studies.
Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation.

Skills & Qualifications:
BS degree, Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university. Power
systems coursework preferred.
Zero-two (0-2) years' related work experience. Internship experience desired.
Familiar with power system analysis, distribution system modeling, and
protective device coordination preferred.
Coursework or experience with engineering software (such as ETAP, SKM,
or similar).
Be a Team Player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Other Requirements:
You must be a US citizen.
You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
Valid Driver's License required.
Travel:
20% to project sites outside CO
Benefits & Compensation:
We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance,
dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid
time off and paid holidays.
Salary range: $55,000-$75,000 based on experience plus eligible for
participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.
