Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
We are looking for field technicians for a packaging company that specializes in the food and beverage industry. These technicians will be traveling 90-100% of the time, installing and commissioning packaging systems. You will work on automated machine systems within filling, labeling, blow molding, dry end, and inspection. The role requires troubleshooting Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, training customers on new equipment operation and maintenance, and collaborating with customers and sales staff to get equipment up and running.
Responsibilities
Receive trip assignments from inside schedulers and make travel arrangements to arrive on time according to customer requirements.
Train customers for successful operation and maintenance; demonstrate how to perform changes for different size or format packaging; provide preliminary invoices for customer signatures.
Work under the direction of tenured technicians to start-up new machines, check power systems and wiring; observe lockout tagout processes to ensure machine components are functioning; confirm proper product movement through the system; communicate with internal staff to solve technical problems or project issues.
Interview customers to determine machine problems; perform basic troubleshooting on machine functionality and verify problem locations.
Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on specified machines to ensure they function correctly according to specifications; coordinate with customers and the Parts department to order any needed parts.
Troubleshoot and modify or edit programs of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
