Position Title:Quality Inspector - Fabrication
Location:St. Charles, MO
Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector - Fabrication is responsible for verifying the
quality of in-process and finished products for custom products before
shipment. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, verifying
compliance with required standards, and approving necessary
documentation. Additionally, the Quality Inspector performs receiving
inspections of vendor- or customer-supplied components to ensure they
meet requirements.
Perform dimensional evaluations of in-process & finished products to
ensure compliance with quality standards.
Perform receiving inspections of vendor or customer supplied
commodities to verify specifications.
Perform and/or witness burn-in testing of in-house & vendor supplied
products.
Witness functional testing of in-process, sub assembly & finished
products.
Understand and follow requirements of formal procedures, processing,
and work instruction documents.
Work closely with production teams to document quality issues.
Represent the Quality Department professionally in client and
company meetings.
Perform calibrations and other work-related tasks, deemed necessary
by the Manager Quality & Customer Care.
Review existing facility processes, validate new processes, and
develop maintenance programs for processes.
Perform source inspections at remote customer or vendor sites.
Support audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to company
and industry quality standards.
Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized inspection
area.
Required Skills:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Prior experience conducting quality inspections in construction,
industrial manufacturing, or related environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and
specifications.
Proficiency with basic measuring tools such as calipers,
micrometers, and/or digital multimeters.
Training or functional experience in Geometric Tolerance
characteristic symbols.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products - Excel, Word, Outlook.
Ability to perform examinations, inspections, and verifications
safely, so that normal production flow is not hampered or negatively
impacted.
Must demonstrate a consistent and stable work history, along with
strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a Skilled Trade Program, Associate\'s degree and/or
Certification program.
Basic understanding of standard welding symbols.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot.
Basic understanding of Military or ISOQuality Management Systems.
Electrical, electronic training, machinist, fabrication and/or
welding training or skills.
CWI - Certified Weld Inspector.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to position self on top of, around or under metal frames or
vehicles.
Ability to travel to inspection/test sites outside the main plant or
manufacturing facility.
Ability to function effectively in outdoor exposed environmental
conditions and cope with the rigors of a typical manufacturing plant.
Occasionally it needs to ascend and descend a ladder.
Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals,
distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection
during specific tasks.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance,
and reach overhead.
Vision abilities required by this job include close and/or color vision,
and ability to adjust focus.
