Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for the collaboration and interactions in the review of specific customer applications using electric technologies for Low and Medium Voltage power systems. You will support the delivery and commissioning of state-of-the-art technology solutions for challenging applications in the oil & gas industry to improve operational efficiency, lower costs and emissions, and maximize well productivity. You need to be creative, dynamic, passionate, and data-driven with the ability to effectively communicate and influence internal teams and customers to deliver best-in-class solutions. This is a high visibility position where you will frequently interact with Technology, business leadership, and customers to formulate and plan technology delivery for electrical power systems applications.
Responsibilities
Cultivate a culture of collaboration in electrical low and medium voltage power systems to ensure state-of-the-art technology is applied in developing new customer technical solutions.
Proactively collaborate with personnel engaged in equipment design, maintenance, and operation to ensure the safe, reliable deployment of high-performance solutions meeting customer requirements.
Interact closely with suppliers to ensure the performance, reliability, and quality of components and subsystems.
Create specifications, procedures, installation instructions, test documents, and other written communications.
Use various systems and software tools regularly, including an internal Product Data Management system, SAP, internal application tools, and Microsoft Office.
Engage in hands-on interaction with relevant equipment and systems through lab testing, full-scale testing, or field testing.
Travel to active well sites, customer offices, vendor offices, training/conference venues, and other company offices as required. This typically encompasses 10-15% of available time, including weekends and holidays for system deployment support.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with at least 5 years of electrical power systems engineering experience or related/applicable experience.
Perform system analysis (loads, load flow, fault analysis, short circuits, harmonics, etc.).
Experience generating/transmitting power.
Proficiency in system-level design, Excel, SKM, ETAP, and voltage analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master's degree in electrical engineering is highly desired but not required.
Experience working with customers in the use/application/selection of mobile electrical gear to solve customer-specific solutions.
Knowledgeable in electrical analysis and the use of commercial software such as SKM or ETAP.
Hands-on experience in the development of applications of electrical equipment and systems, including micro-grids, utility electrical interfaces, natural gas (NG) generators, and turbines using industrial electrical distribution, medium voltage switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, AC motors, and protection systems for mobile applications.
Experience in medium voltage power generation and/or distribution for oil & gas applications preferred.
Experience with large-scale industrial processes (chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas refining) is essential.
Understanding of the commissioning of power system solutions (low & medium voltage) using utility power, micro-grids, and mobile power generation (NG gas turbine & recip. engines) and demonstrated troubleshooting skills is desired, but not required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
