GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for the receipt and
appropriate testing of Clinical Trials samples, and the successful
uploading or entry of the results into the Laboratory Information
System. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Pre-Analytical: Be trained and familiar with
the appropriate specimen @types, handling and storage requirements for
the assays being performed. Advise the pre-analytical staff in the
correct handling and storage of samples and assist if required Generate
work lists for the assays to be performed Reconcile work with the
samples provided and ensure all samples to be tested are available.
Analytical (According to the relevant departmental SOPs): Receive
training and evaluation in all departmental SOPs Document training
Perform and document daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on automated
and manual equipment Perform and document daily start-up calibration and
QC of automated clinical analyzers. Accurately prepare calibrators,
controls and reagents Perform all required testing. Perform and document
all Quality Control testing results and corrective action taken to
resolve problems. Review and release for reporting the analytical data
and results Assist in the validation and implementation of new methods
and new equipment as required. General and Administrative: Communicate
courteously, effectively and in a timely manner with co-workers. Assist
the Project Management staff in providing a quality, timely service to
Clinical Trials Customers Inform the immediate Supervisor, and
appropriate Laboratory Study Coordinator or the Clinical Trials
Laboratory Manager or Director of Operations, of any testing problems
that occur with the results for a Clinical Trials subject, as soon as
practically possible in writing. Keep work area neat and clean. Comply
with OSHA and other safety manual procedures. Maintain and protect the
confidentiality of all CRL and client information. Be able to comply
with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health
regulations that would apply to this job. Other duties as assigned. *
