Job Title: Electrical Technician
Job Description
This position is for an Electrical Technician within a rebuilding and job shop, custom machine building environment. The role involves taking over from the mechanical team to wire and install all electrical components onto equipment, running wires from the pre-fabricated panel to the various components. Responsibilities include programming, repairing, and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) systems used within production facilities.
Responsibilities
Assist shift maintenance technicians and operations with resolving process issues using specific control systems software applications and PLC hardware.
Use equipment manuals, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, and Rockwell Knowledgebase Articles to troubleshoot and maintain electrical and controls systems.
Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot magnetic flow meters, mass flow meters, level and pressure transmitters, discrete devices such as limit switches, level probes, and solenoid valves.
Restore faulted equipment after power interruptions.
Interpret and understand schematics including component and symbol recognition.
Utilize schematics to plan the electrical assembly and wiring sequence.
Build and wire electrical control boxes and panels, including electrical junction boxes, line connections, stop buttons, push buttons, safety switches, outlets, electrical motors, variable frequency drives, PLCs, electrical sub-assemblies, and other electrical units.
Wire complete machines and systems from the control panel to various industrial components.
Work with Fanuc or ABB robots for various projects.
Properly utilize a variety of hand tools for assembly and wiring such as wire cutters, hacksaw, cutters, wire stripper, grinder, drill, electrical meter, etc.
Install transformers to proper voltages, install sensors, limit switches, safety strings, proximity sensors, motors, PLC modules, and connect all wiring from control panel terminals to junction box terminals to all components.
Ensure that wiring and assembly tasks comply with NEC (National Electric Code) standards and other relevant guidelines.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years' experience as an Electrical Technician, Electrician, or similar role.
Ability to work off of verbal instructions and electrical schematics.
Proficiency in programming PLC, HMI, VFD from scratch and performing field wiring and machine installation.
Basic understanding of AutoCAD.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
