We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to oversee and manage sales within an assigned territory. This role involves building strong customer relationships, driving sales growth, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. S/he is responsible for the efficient, safe, and profitable performance of their assigned territory. Individuals must provide effective coverage of existing accounts, cultivation of new business and professional problem resolution to meet or exceed the company’s expectations.
Responsibilities
- Comprehends our products, with knowledge of various resin markets and related feedstock conditions. Articulate them professionally to customers. Understands the basics of commercial indicators and knows how to track them. Implement and execute action plans. Evaluates activities and monitors sales performance.
- Demonstrates an understanding of customer needs and requirements and recognizes business impacts. Understands and applies quality internal standards. Interacts regularly with customers to create and foster trusting relationships, allocating 30+% of time to visit clients and prospects.
- Conducts a monthly assessment of performance, activities and needs with Manager.
- Analyzes market/customer trends to build forecast (short & mid-term).
- Develops an understanding of potential growth areas within their territory and shares findings with manager.
- Delivers an increase of margin, volume and new business year over year, as agreed upon with manager.
- Reviews call plan and partners with Customer Service to ensure accurate and timely service.
- Presents to Product Teams, to include; price, product parameters, competitive landscape, incumbent supplier, grade numbers, application, packaging and volume.
- Reports negotiation outcomes Sales and Business Managers.
- Oversees account base to ensure timely inventory turns.
- Communicates and documents issues and opportunities to achieve goals.
- Displays behavior in accordance with Company Business Principles.
Qualifications
- Previous Sales experience in the Plastic Raw Materials sector
- Articulate and well accustomed to a client facing role
- Willingness and ability to travel
