Robert Bosch LLC seeks Sr. Controls Software Engineer (Multiple Positions) in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Design and Develop software / functionality for embedded control systems for automotive applications such as vehicle control unit (VCU), propulsion - combustion, hybrid, electric & hydrogen - control unit (ECU) and transmission control unit (TCU). Work on the latest generation microcontrollers /microprocessors and AUTOSAR standards. Engage in all phases of development -concept creation till release to customer. Perform rapid prototyping to support functional requirement development. Handle the requirements from statement of work, create functional design, develop the function, integrate, validate, and release the software as per Bosch product development quality process. Play a key role in acquisition, especially for progressive mobility players and handle proto@type software development in power systems energy and connectivity area. Lead coordination between hardware, software and tools for Engine and Vehicle Control Unit as product. Handle topics such as automated connected electrified (ACE) with progressive mobility players, system engineering for Electrical vehicle, plug in hybrid vehicle and internal combustion engines. Use DNG (DOORS NEXT GEN) /RQ1 (Request One) tool for requirement handling and software development stages. Develop and implement the software requirement using ASCET (Advanced Simulation and Control Engineering Tool) according to specification. Dive deep into analysis improving hardware-software interfaces and software testing. Test and validate new software features in the vehicle, on a dynamometer, a HIL, SIL or MIL. Debug/troubleshoot software, utilizing Bosch proprietary tools INCA (integrated calibration and acquisition) and UDE (universal debugging engine). Participate in program review meetings, interface studies, design reviews. Support customer test trips in hot, cold, and high-altitude environments and provide local expertise for software. Act as direct contact with internal and external customers. Telecommuting is allowed with 2-3 days in office. Domestic Travel: 5% - 10%.
This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Plus 5 years of experience as a Software System Designer, Systems Engineer, Controls Software Engineer, or an occupation involving controls in the automotive industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) MATLAB or Simulink; (2) Ascet, Labview, or Lauterbach; (3) Powertrain or vehicle control unit; (4) ECU, VCU, transmission control unit, and body control unit; (5) Mechanical, electrical and software intensive systems; and (6) Embedded C and assembly/Linux.
