Electrical Designer - DFW (AutoCAD Electrical - Control Panels)
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our DFW-based team, helping design, develop, and implement cutting-edge switchboard and switchgear solutions that meet both client needs and industry standards.
About the Role
As an Electrical Designer, you will play a critical role in engineering precision-built control panels that prioritize efficiency, reliability, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to high-quality design, technical development, and implementation. This position offers the opportunity to work on schematic creation, BOM generation, and occasional PLC & HMI programming to support seamless automation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop customized switchboard and switchgear solutions for various industrial applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Generate detailed bills of materials (BOMs) to maintain accurate component selection and seamless production.
Design precise schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
Perform critical power calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit evaluations to ensure safety and reliability.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to understand needs and develop optimized control panel designs.
Participate in design reviews, ensuring alignment with industry-leading best practices.
Stay up to date on industry regulations, standards, and new technological developments to continuously refine design processes and compliance.
Assist with procurement and vendor selection, ensuring seamless integration of components into final products.
Provide hands-on technical support throughout the manufacturing and assembly phases, ensuring flawless execution of designs.
Adhere to all UL508A, UL67, UL891, NEC, and industry-specific code requirements to ensure top-tier quality and safety.
Collaborative office environment, with direct coordination with manufacturing teams to bring designs to life.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or an Associate's Degree in CAD/Engineering-related fields.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (preferred) or similar CAD tools such as EPLAN.
Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
2+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in control panel development.
Understanding of power distribution, controls, and key electrical calculations.
Knowledge of industry regulations, including NEC, IEC, and UL standards related to control panel design.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Prior experience in switchboard field service or technician roles.
Hands-on experience with electrical hardware, robotics, mechanical systems, and engineering projects.
UL certification (preferred).
Knowledge of UL891 and UL67 standards for switchboards and electrical panels.
Work Environment & Culture
Monday to Friday, with start times between 6 AM - 7 AM.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr.
