What you will do:
The Enterprise Engineering team supports complex supplier-initiated change requests, end of lifetime products, as well as continuous improvement, product enhancement projects, and Product Transfer projects that keep the business running smoothly. As a Staff Electrical Engineer, you will focus on executing assigned product engineering projects, while working with our partners in R&D, as well as Operations. You will be a part of a dedicated team to deliver process and project excellence to support the continued growth of our Mako Robotics Platform. You'll work extensively to keep our systems running and grow that platform.
Additional responsibilities:
Support existing field products, design for manufacturability, and support the continuous improvement of Stryker products
Design and develop requirements, proto@types, and solutions to deliver electrical designs for robotic and surgical applications
Problem-solve assigned field issues with electrical scope
Generate detailed electrical and electronic solutions and release applicable documentation
Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, other engineering teams, and program management to deliver products
Execute project plans
Review peer designed drawings
Contribute to the building and testing of electrical proto@types
Practice advanced understanding of manufacturing principles and quality assurance documentation in the medical industry
Originate designs and concepts, draft design documentation, and plan and conduct relevant reviews and tests
Debug electrical circuit problems and implement corrective action
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
4+ years of experience in a professional engineering setting
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with the design of electronics (printed circuit boards, cables) with emphasis on manufacturability
Experience reading electrical schematics, CAD drawings and product architecture drawings
Experience in SolidWorks, MATLAB and LabView
Knowledge of design tools (Altium or Orcad/Allegro design tools)
Knowledge of analytical tools and statistical methods
Project management experience
Experience working in a highly regulated industry
Experience managing/working with a 3rd party fixture suppliers
