POSITION TITLE: Electrical Engineer II

JOB DESCRIPTION: Design, test, and maintain power conversion products such as Power panel, medium voltage starter/ VSD, low voltage starter/ VSD, and harmonic filter and systems for Johnson Controls' chiller applications. Support qualification of third-party power conversion products into chiller products. Determine the best techniques, procedures and/ or theories as it apply to the development of products and systems. Create compliance procedures for the development of electrical or electronic circuitry designs. Define and interpret design specifications. Design electrical or electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements. Analyze product design requirements and recommend solutions. Prepare and coordinate the release of documentation to support component design and manufacturing. Participate in all aspects of preliminary design and systems architecture and conduct analysis of the cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application software. Conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems. Work with other engineers, designers, and technicians on specific work assignments. Forecast and schedule work activities and define processes for repetitive tasks. Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of power electronics products and systems on Johnson Controls' chillers. Telecommuting: 3 days of telecommuting per week allowed (Hybrid).
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a master's degree, or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Additionally, the applicant must have completed the following graduate-level courses: (1) Power Electronics; (2) Mathematical Methods in Engineering; (3) Colloquium; (4) Power Systems Control; (5) Smart Grid Control & Dynamics; (6) Power Systems Analysis; and (7) Random Variables and Stochastic Processes.
