ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Full-Time with benefits | Wages per classified wage scale | Starting
date: August 18, 2025\
Work hours Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 4:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
High school diploma; preference may be given to applicants with
experience and/or college education\
Knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation, with the
ability to prepare routine letters and communications\
Knowledge of computer systems such as Windows, Microsoft Office, Google
Drive, and other data management systems\
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals\
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
\
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as a public relations agent for the school district while serving as
the schools receptionist; receive and screen visitors, answer the
telephone and provide available information, and refer calls and queries
to the appropriate school personnel or department\
Process incoming and outgoing mail\
Maintain accurate enrollment and attendance records for various reports
using digital student management systems\
Run daily tardy reports and mail attendance letters home when necessary\
Prepare quarterly state attendance reports\
Type a variety of materials including letters, student records, reports,
memos, and monthly statements; must be able to handle student
information and records in a responsible and confidential manner\
Arrange for substitutes and maintain records on all staff members\
Work on graduation program and diplomas\
Select, train, and oversee student office aides\
Maintain inventory and order all office supplies and consumables\
Process mid-term reports and report cards\
Develop list for honor roll students and eligibility for graduation\
Assist counselor with Master Schedule for each new year and the
scheduling of students into fall classes\
Enroll new students and assist in class placement\
Perform duties relating to students such as administering medications as
requested by parent/guardian and record, responding to
accidents/illnesses and notifying the appropriate people, completing all
appropriate forms and records, and other issues as they arise\
Complete some accounts-receivable duties\
Schedule and manage usage of facilities\
Assist administrator and staff in other such duties as time allows or as
assigned
Any BCSD staff interested in transferring to this position should submit
