We are looking for you to join our Launcher Electronics Group as an El ectrical Design Engineer Level 2/3 for the development and ongoing support of new and existing electrical designs used in surface ship and submarine launch control systems for the US Navy. The prospective candidate researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems for Department of Defense, commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
The Strategic Launcher Directorate consists of incredible people with backgrounds in Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Engineers with focus on Control Systems and Electronics Design. The Launcher Electronics Group is one facet of the Hardware Engineering community here at Northrop Grumman Cape Canaveral which also includes Mechanical Design, Thermal and Structural Analysis, and Materials Analysis to name a few. Our engineers find professional fulfillment in leading teams, performing cutting-edge research, and being in the forefront of the design process through our partnership with the program office business leadership.
The Launcher Electronics group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer Level 2/3 with knowledge and experience with design and test of analog and digital circuitry, cable design, data acquisition systems, and electronic control systems including motors, mechanical actuators, and sensors. The candidate should also have a strong knowledge of electronic test equipment, test methods, and troubleshooting. The ability to work autonomously and be a self-starter are requirements for this position. This position located in Cape Canaveral, FL.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below:
Basic Qualifications for an Electrical Design Engineer Level 2:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 2 years of related experience, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with no years of experience
Experience with design of analog and digital circuits
Experience with data acquisition systems
Experience in cable design and manufacturing
Experience with standard electrical lab equipment - Oscilloscope, DMM, IR tester (or similar)
Demonstrated troubleshooting experience with electromechanical control systems and circuits
Experience designing and troubleshooting custom test setups.
US Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Basic Qualifications for a Electrical Design Engineer Level 3:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5 years of related experience, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 3 years of related experience
Experience with design of analog and digital circuits
Experience with data acquisition systems
Experience in cable design and manufacturing
Experience with standard electrical lab equipment - Oscilloscope, DMM, IR tester (or similar)
Demonstrated troubleshooting experience with electromechanical control systems and circuits
Experience designing and troubleshooting custom test setups.
US Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of work experiences with DOD related products
PCB/CCB design ability and experience
Experience with Electromagnetic Interference testing and design for mitigation
MATLAB/Simulink proficiency
Labview and labwindows experience.
C/C++/C# proficiency
Understanding of FPGA concepts and programming
Current DOD secret security clearance
Grounding and EMI Design
Familiar with NFPA 70E
Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
