Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Revenue Accounting Specialist to independently manage and execute complex revenue accounting processes. This role requires expert-level knowledge of ASC 606 principles to handle intricate revenue calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations across diverse and significant revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
Complex Revenue Accounting: Independently oversee and execute detailed revenue accounting tasks, applying advanced ASC 606 principles to ensure accuracy in revenue calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations.
ASC 606 Expertise :Utilize deep mastery of ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers to provide authoritative guidance on identifying performance obligations, allocating transaction prices, and recognizing revenue for varied and non-standard contracts.
Revenue Close Process: Take full ownership of critical aspects of the monthly and quarterly revenue close process, ensuring timely and precise completion while adhering to ASC 606 standards.
SOX Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with SOX requirements related to revenue accounting, designing and maintaining sophisticated internal controls over revenue recognition.
Process Improvement: Proactively identify, develop, and implement strategies to enhance and streamline revenue accounting processes, improve ASC 606 application, and mitigate risks associated with revenue recognition.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of revenue-related accounts, including deferred revenue schedules and contract asset and liability calculations, providing expert insights to support financial decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams such as Sales Operations, Legal, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to ensure consistent and accurate application of ASC 606 across all revenue-generating activities, offering authoritative guidance and resolving complex revenue recognition issues.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in revenue accounting with a strong understanding of ASC 606 principles.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
CPA preferred
Ability to work 9-month contract fully remote, located in US.
Proven ability to manage complex revenue accounting processes independently.
Expertise in SOX compliance and designing internal controls over revenue recognition.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed financial analysis.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working with various teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $105.00/hr.
