Your Role:
As a PRN Respiratory Therapist, you will:
Set up and operate devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
Ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature.
Administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of a physician.
Monitor patients' physiological responses to therapy through vital signs.
Assist patients in performing breathing exercises.
Observe and adjust equipment to obtain optimum results from therapy.
Consult with physicians in the event of adverse reactions.
Maintain patients' charts with pertinent identification and therapy information.
Inspect and test respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
Order repairs when needed.
Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel.
Requirements:
Relevant qualifications and certifications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Education/Experience:
One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
Certificates and Licenses:
Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
