COHO Consulting Groupis seeking aMechanical Engineerto perform QA/QC services and join our team in support of a contract at the Washington Headquarters Services. This position will be performed onsite in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities(include but are not limited to):
Perform Facility Condition Assessments on government property in observation of installed work (e.g., concrete, structural steel, process and mechanical piping, electrical, etc.).
Record findings and enter into the asset management software and SMS BUILDER Suite.
Work with the customer to review preventive maintenance work orders, maintenance history, emergency service work words, and previously identified projects.
Perform Quality Control on existing data collected by others, and update data as needed.
Acquire and analyze data from the DoD facilities budget models and metrics for use by the customer in development of the POM and other facility related decisions.
Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
Based on SMS data prepare information papers, presentations and briefings based on FCA data for leadership decision-making.

Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management
Experience:
5+ year's experience in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
Knowledge of International Building Codes and ASME codes
Experience interpreting codes and specifications
Extensive experience in utilizing BUILDER SMS and BRED
Proficiency in various computer design and project scheduling softwares
Experience using MS Excel
Thorough knowledge of general construction methods and construction codes
Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards
Ability to accurately read and interpret design documents (drawings and specifications)
Understands how to research and locate manufacturer's product data and installation guidelines.
Capable of successfully solving difficult contract and contract-related technical problems requiring excellent judgment
Understands UNIFORMAT II asset data structure (e.g., A10 Foundations, A20 Basement Construction, B1O Superstructure, B20 Exterior Closure, B30 Roofing, C1O Interior Construction, C20 Staircases, C30 Interior Finishes, D10 Conveying Systems, D20 Plumbing, 030 Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), D40 Fire Protection, and D50 Electrical)
Capable of accessing roofs and other building components through ladders
