As an Electrical Engineer in Orlando, FL, you'll be at the forefront of designing cutting-edge electrical systems for buildings and facilities. Your expertise in power distribution, lighting, fire and life safety systems, and low voltage distribution will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact projects that make a difference.
We're searching for an Electrical Engineer who thrives on tackling complex challenges and contributing to projects that are central to our clients' success. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on diverse projects spanning industrial, commercial, grocery, and retail sectors. You'll take ownership of project schedules and technical quality, gaining deep insight into client needs and managing scope, budget, and timelines effectively. Beyond design work, you'll provide essential on-site support during startup, coordinate activities with multidisciplinary teams, and collaborate to create seamless solutions for systems like low voltage power, lighting, grounding, fire alarms, and electrical calculations.
This is a hybrid role. Ideally, you will work from a local Jacobs office on average 2 days per week. Travel for this role is less than 10% per year. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) from an ABET accredited college or university.
Two (2) years of electrical engineering (design of commercial buildings, electrical systems) experience.
EI/EIT certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of being hired.
Knowledge in the use of CADD (AutoCAD or Revit) and other specialized design software as required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).
Knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards in electrical design as it pertains to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards with an emphasis on the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
Ideally, you'll also have:
Four years (4) of electrical engineering (design of commercial buildings, electrical systems) experience within the retail grocery industry.
FE exam completion
Experience with AGi32 Lighting Software
Experience with power systems analysis software (SKM, ETAP, Easypower)
Knowledge of retail grocery operations and equipment.
