Job Description:

Assist with and provide physical care to residents according to established standard of performance.

Performs and records assigned procedures and nursing care activities completely and skillfully, such as BP, TPRs, heights, weights, changing simple dressing, feeding, and other related nursing duties.

Maintains the environmental conditions and practices to ensure comfort, safety, and security for residents’ property.

Demonstrates safety awareness and follows protocol for fire, disaster, infection control, and other environmental care practices.

Maintains knowledge and skills through participation in conferences and planning for patient care. Attends all mandatory classes.

Participates in performance improvement activities.
-
Demonstrates a sensitive and supportive attitude towards the resident, family, and/or significant others.
-
Assists in recreational and rehabilitation activities designed to meet the assessed needs of residents. Supervises residents during field trips.
-
Report observations of patients’ and families’ mental state and social behavior to medical and professional staff caring for patients and participate in the assessment and/or care of patients and families.
This position does NOT perform EKGs. This position does NOT utilize phlebotomy skills.
Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from elementary school.

Successful completion of a basic skill training program for Nurse’s Aides, or its equivalent.

In addition to meeting the qualification requirements above, assignment to a long-term care facility requires a New York State Nurse’s Aide Certificate.
Additional $2,000 differential for working in a long-term care facility.
