Position Summary: The Health and Wellness Department is seeking
adjunct faculty to teach credit physical education and wellness activity
courses within the department curriculum. JCCC is looking for a diverse
pool of applicants to fill several classes. These classes vary by
semester but may include any activity courses we offer. Including by not
limited to: Basketball, Volleyball, Pickleball, Weight Training, Self
Defense etc. These courses are taught every semester and may vary with
regards to time and days each semester.
The successful applicant for this job will teach the equivalent of 1-9
credit hours per semester in the HPER department. This person will
perform other duties expected of adjunct faculty, to include
collaborating and working successfully with other full-time and adjunct
faculty in the HPER department and other duties as assigned. Teaching
assignments could be day, evening, or weekend courses, and hybrid or
online and are subject to change as needed.
Additional responsibilities include Participate in the planning and
administration of all departmental initiatives. Participate in on-campus
events promoting health and wellness. Complete online departmental
training as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s Degree in a Field with Demonstrated proficiency in
activity course taught and appropriate certification in activity
and, bachelor\'s degree in physical education or Related Field with
appropriate certification.
Prior teaching experience or equivalent experience in field working
with students in higher education
Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom setting.
Ability to keep accurate records of student\'s work.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Canvas or other Learning Management System.
Master\'s degree in physical education or related field with 18
Credit Hours in the Discipline.
