Job Description

AC and Heating Maintenance Techs:

Education and Training

High school diploma or GED (required).

In the process of completion of an HVAC training program at a trade school, technical school, or community college (preferred but not always required).
Basic Technical Skills and Knowledge

Understanding of HVAC system components (filters, coils, fans, compressors, etc.).

Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, and checking system performance.

Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.

Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience

No formal experience required for many entry-level positions.

Apprenticeship or hands-on training is often provided.

Any prior experience in construction, plumbing, or electrical work can be beneficial.
Soft Skills and Physical Requirements

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.

Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and withstand extreme temperatures.

Occupational license/Certificates:

In the process of completion of an HVAC training program at a trade school, technical school, or community college (preferred but not always required).

Background requirements:

Candidates must pass a drug screen and a background check. Convictions will be reviewed on case-by-case basis; convictions will not necessarily bar a candidate's employment. After an offer or conditional offer of employment is made, the employer may require the prospective employee to take a physical examination.
