Job Title: Microenterprise Business Developer
Reports to: Microenterprise Program Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Microenterprise Business Developer is responsible for outreach and relationship-building with microenterprise owners, addressing their diverse needs through comprehensive support. This role involves providing holistic technical assistance to microenterprises in the City of El Paso and County.
Key responsibilities include maintaining a detailed database, conducting initial evaluations, delivering targeted training, assisting with capital access, and ensuring accurate outcome reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management: o Maintain a detailed database of services, including initial contacts, follow-up visits, and microenterprise business reporting outcomes.
Outreach and Contact: o Contact microenterprises across the assigned areas of El Paso and County to offer support and assistance.
Initial Evaluation: o Conduct evaluations with microenterprise owners to identify priority areas for technical assistance, such as business plan development, bookkeeping, marketing, capital access, and regulatory compliance.
Training: o Provide direct training in manual accounting using DOME books, computerized DOME book systems, or QuickBooks as needed or other topics.
Capital Access Assistance: o Assist microenterprises in accessing capital through established and regulated microlenders and/or grants.
Outcome Reporting: o Track and report evaluation outcomes to ensure accuracy and quality assurance.
Coordinator and Participation in events: Assist in organizing and participating in workshops, networking events, and other activities aimed at supporting microenterprises.
Requirements:
Language Skills: Culturally and linguistically competent in communicating with mono-lingual Spanish and limited English proficient clients.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of basic microenterprise business issues and strategies, familiarity with DOME books (manual and computerized), QuickBooks, and accounting/bookkeeping documents.
Experience: Direct entrepreneurial experience as a microenterprise owner preferred.
Education: Degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business administration, or strategic planning.
Skills: o Excellent Spanish communication skills. o Proficiency in Excel, Word, Google Docs, and Zoom. o Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple data tracks. o Basic internet research skills. o Strong verbal communication and collaborative working style.
Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 20 pounds and comfortably see and read documents with corrected vision or other aids.
