Micron's Facilities Team is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at our new semiconductor fab in Boise, Idaho. We have the opportunity to bring in a high-energy, tenacious, and ambitious individual with a strong work ethic and integrity to join the team!
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for maintaining and operating all medium- and low-voltage systems on-site, up to 35 kV. This includes distribution switchgear, UPS units, dynamic UPS units, power quality systems, transformers, cable and bus systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control and monitoring systems. In this role, you will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, corrective work, inspections, and coordination of work activities performed by contractors. The candidate will need to be experienced with applicable electrical codes and standards and have a basic understanding of mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures, LOTO, and NFPA 70E standards
Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code NFPA70
Understanding of electrical one-line diagrams and the ability to perform feeder switching on electrical switchboards with redundant feeds
Provide timely and detailed preventative maintenance on highly technical facilities equipment
Provide effective & proficient responses to restore equipment to service as soon as possible in the event of a system failure
Identify and respond according to alarm conditions
Provide effective and timely support to resolve equipment issues
Identify and reduce equipment defects to improve quality and enhance system stability
Maintain records on maintenance, testing, and calibrations of equipment
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of relevant experience in the electrical industry or equivalent trade-level experience.
Experience in critical environments
Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work.
Experience interpreting blueprint/CAD drawings.
Experience in comprehending electrical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings.
Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the manufacturing industry.
NETA or NICET electrical testing experience/certification.
Experience in high-voltage (up to 345 kV) equipment construction, operation, and maintenance.
Trade certification of license as an electrician.
Equipment field service representative experience.
