Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity in the education industry in Alhambra, California, United States. We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be accountable for managing incoming payments, maintaining customer information, and resolving any billing discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
Accurately process and record electronic transfers, checks, and credit card payments from our customers
Generate and dispatch invoices to customers on defined billing schedules or when requested
Keep track of accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with customers about overdue payments
Investigate and rectify any billing discrepancies or disputes by communicating with customers, sales teams, and other departments
Maintain an up-to-date, accurate customer information database in the accounts receivable system
Regularly reconcile accounts receivable records with the general ledger
Prepare and present financial reports related to accounts receivable such as collection performance, aging analysis, and bad debt reserves
Work closely with the collections team to devise and implement strategies aimed at improving collection rates and reducing outstanding balances
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to customer inquiries and resolving payment-related issues
Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
Stay informed about relevant accounting principles, regulations, and industry best practices related to accounts receivable. Requirements - Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is a must.
Demonstrated experience in administrative assistance.
Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
Proven ability to meet and manage deadlines effectively.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience in the education industry is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
Ability to use financial software and systems efficiently.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
