Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting
Location: New York
Reporting to: VP of Accounting
We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting to lead our accounting operations across multiple locations in the U.S. This is a highly visible role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to financial strategy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the accounting team, including goal setting, training, and professional development.
- Partner with finance, operations, and executive leadership to support business decisions with financial insights.
- Manage relationships with accounting and financial advisors.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for multiple locations.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of the month-end close process (within five days) in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP.
- Maintain strong command of US GAAP accounting standards and ensure adherence.
- Conduct cost accounting and gross margin analysis.
- Manage monthly and quarterly financial consolidations and reporting.
Governance & Compliance
- Champion best practices, standard operating procedures, and internal controls, working closely with auditors.
- Oversee general ledger integrity, ensuring accurate financial data within ERP systems and financial consolidations.
- Assist with tax compliance and other accounting-related services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required).
- Active CPA license (required).
- 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial systems, ERP software, and Excel.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,747.00 - $173,566.00 per year
