Overview:
We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be crucial in managing financial records for our property portfolio, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis. This position is essential for maintaining the financial health of our properties and supporting strategic decision-making.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each asset within assigned portfolio
- Examine financial activity through strategic lens to provide insight and recommendations for improved performance
- Oversee and perform general ledger accounting, including AJEs, accrual adjustments and periodic account reconciliation.
- Monthly cash reconciliations, including reconciliation of escrow, reserve and other property level cash accounts.
- Manage accounts receivable/payable activity to ensure timely processing of receipts and disbursements by our supporting departments.
- Ensure timely completion of annual financial audit process, acting as lead contact between audit firms and the management group.
- Develop and refine property operating budgets annually to establish achievable performance goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA or MBA preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting experience within the real estate industry; residential/affordable experience preferred.
- Proficiency in property management software (Yardi preferred), as well as strong ability to operate and leverage Microsoft Suite products.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with ability to self-manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with an ability to collaborate successfully with internal/external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to think critically to make informed decisions.
- Ability to perform at high level in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
