What will you be doing?
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for specification, installation and maintenance of manufacturing and physical plant equipment, along with project work to improve the safety, quality, and performance of the manufacturing facility. Under the direction of the engineering
manager, the electrical engineer will work with the engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency. The electrical engineer is also responsible for technical support of some mature electronic products currently in production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and installation of electrical equipment, facilities, components, and systems for industrial purposes.
Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues in support of manufacturing reliability
Perform and assist technicians in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment.
Identify investments for the continued improvement of manufacturing and facility equipment/processes
Coordinate and manage work conducted by outside contractors on building, process, and equipment electrical/control systems
Develop applications of controls, instruments, and systems for industrial uses
Perform, direct, and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems
Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to complete engineering tasks
Work closely with mechanical engineering, technicians and production staff.
May conduct training with associates
Research and implement advanced technology in tooling, automation, and mechanization to reduce cost of manufacturing
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or a related field) plus a minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, or a related associate's degree and 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to develop designs and create engineering drawings using CAD software.
Experience with SolidWorks required.
Experience using lean manufacturing, root cause analysis and problem solving tools in order to solve problems.
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and NEC preferred.
Experience in Web Converting, Paper/Pulp Converting, or similar high speed, rotating equipment environment preferred.
Experience in a multi-shift manufacturing facility preferred.
Must be capable of working flexible hours to accommodate 24/7 manufacturing operations, including weekends, and on-call requirements.
