Job Title: Distribution Technician
Job Description
The Distribution Technician will be responsible for visually inspecting overhead and underground electrical distribution equipment, compiling field data, preparing minor work orders, and maintaining reports on distribution equipment. The role involves measuring and mapping out Low Voltage Disconnect Module (LVD) systems, identifying and recording electrical equipment on distribution poles, and assisting in the acquisition and gathering of field data from field notes. The technician will follow the company's Code of Safe Practices, communicate effectively within the organization and with external clients and agencies, and prepare and submit required reports and correspondence. Additionally, the technician will independently design and prepare construction orders related to overhead and underground facilities associated with electric distribution systems, applying prescribed standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities
Visually inspect overhead and underground electrical distribution equipment.
Compile field data collection, prepare minor work orders, and maintain distribution equipment reports.
Measure and map out Low Voltage Disconnect Module (LVD) systems.
Identify and record electrical equipment on distribution poles.
Assist in the acquisition and gathering of field data from field notes.
Follow the company's Code of Safe Practices.
Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization and with outside clients and agencies.
Prepare and submit required reports and correspondence.
Design and prepare construction orders for overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.
Apply standards, guidelines, specifications, and procedures in preparing layouts of electric distribution facilities.

Experience with AutoCAD
High school graduate or equivalent
Clean and valid Driver's license
Ability to travel regionally during business days and overnight as required
Overnight travel to other territories for up to 2 weeks may be required
Work Environment
Travel is primarily regional to the utility client's territory during the business day, although overnight travel is to be expected.
Additional travel to other territories for up to 2 weeks on site may be required.
The role involves mostly field work related to data collection and post-construction inspection.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
