Job Description
We are seeking entry-level technicians to join our team on site in Coralville, IA. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform cleanings and preventive maintenance (PM) on various laboratory equipment. This role involves meticulous and repetitive tasks to ensure the integrity of DNA sample processing.
Responsibilities
Clean and maintain synthesizers used in DNA processing.
Perform preventive maintenance on robotic liquid handlers, HPLC machines, gas phase routers, reagent dispensers, and other laboratory equipment.
Replace filters and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and cleaning activities.
Collaborate with the equipment maintenance team to ensure optimal performance of all machinery.
Essential Skills
1+ year of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
Familiarity with manufacturing environments.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technical skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and a 'fixer' mindset.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hand and power tools.
Experience in maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical and electrical components.
Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance.
Experience with construction, blueprint reading, and service work is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment is climate-controlled and very clean. The equipment maintenance team consists of 15-18 people, and new hires will join this collaborative group. The dress code includes provided lab coats, glasses, and gloves. Candidates should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and long sleeve shirts. Available shifts include Week Days (6am to 5pm, Monday-Thursday), Week Nights (6pm to 5am, Monday-Thursday), Weekend Days (6am to 6pm, Friday-Sunday), and Weekend Nights (6pm to 6am, Friday-Sunday).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.59 - $29.87/hr.
