Summary: This position is responsible for developing relationships with member-owners and transmission customers, overseeing and standardizing project management practices, adherence to best practices, governance processes and delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget. This role also supervises, provides work direction, coaches, guides, and trains transmission project managers while acting as the key liaison between the Transmission Project Management Office (PMO) and project execution teams. While primarily focused on leadership, strategy, and team development, this position may also involve performing individual contributor tasks to support team workload, address critical issues, or drive key initiatives. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise, coach, provide work direction, guidance and training as the subject matter expert to transmission project managers to maximize productivity, consistency, teamwork and employee engagement. Supervise project managers to ensure accuracy and consistency across all projects and ensure adherence to processes, procedures, governance, and reporting requirements. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for project management processes. Oversee and standardize project management practices, adherence to best practices, governance processes and ensure delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget. Ensure alignment between project execution and business objectives. Establish and maintain project management best practices, templates, and methodologies. Ensure internal and external stakeholders are well-informed to ensure project execution success. Act as primary interface between the PMO leadership team, senior leadership, and project teams. Ensure project schedules are evaluated at a portfolio level including resource and outage needs as well as material adequacy. Collaborate with Great River Energy (GRE) contracts and strategy group, member-owners, and other utilities on schedule, ownership, cost sharing, scope of work, configuration, and construction oversight to ensure successful projects. Communicate future projects with member-owners and as needed, liaison between member-owners, transmission customers, and foreign utilities.
