Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking experienced cable assemblers to join our team. In this role, you will be working in a manufacturing or production environment, handling small parts and assembling photonic cables. The ideal candidate will have experience in small part assembly, particularly with electrical or wiring components, and will be comfortable using various hand tools. You will be trained on the specifics of photonic cable assembly. The ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
Responsibilities
Follow established assembly instructions for fiber optic cables and products
Maintain a minimum standard quota (time and/or piece count) for a given job assignment
Comply with all safety requirements and company policies and procedures
Obtain Intermediate Level understanding of the names of tools used in assembly and their use
Level component identification and product knowledge
Obtain Intermediate level understanding of measuring with standard and metric measurements and use available conversion tools
Perform all tasks accurately and thoroughly to provide quality product
Report to Production Supervisor and/or production management any irregularities pertaining to daily goals, quality, or delays
Use basic problem solving skills to identify problems and act appropriately to solve them and initiate constructive change
Essential Skills
1+ Year of Small Part Assembly Experience (electrical/wiring preferred)
Hand Tool Experience - wire cutters/strippers, rulers, crimpers, etc.
Able to stand for long periods of time
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Good manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination
High level of attention to detail
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
Basic measurement skills using both standard and metric
Basic English skills; must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
Ability to reason and analyze
ITAR Compliant
Ability to sit or stand for long periods; able to lift, stoop, and bend as needed
Highly dependable, good work ethic, positive attitude, team player

Work Environment
Clean environment manufacturing fiber optics for government and private customers. Employees will wear a basic gown like a lab coat in a clean room @type environment. Shifts are from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday with frequent overtime on Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.50/hr.
